Caleb and the Oreo.

The other day I was at the store with Caleb and found myself looking at the Oreo's. I decided then that it was time for another cupcake adventure! This time it would be a teaching gig with Caleb, and our subject is Cookies and Cream! We started with the traditional vanilla cake batter and I gave Caleb a ziploc bag and the oreo's and told him to go at it! He bashed and mashed up the cookies and then mixed them into the cake.

Then it was off to the oven for our pretty little cupcakes.

The next lesson was the frosting. I showed Caleb how to make vanilla buttercream, his favorite part was the powdered sugar. However, he kept trying to make the sugar "puff up" out of the mixing bowl, so I was forced to take over to keep the mess to a minimum.

We mixed more Oreo's into the icing...then frosted them. We broke up some cookies and decorated the top of our cupcakes. We made "shark fins" on some of them too! And of course the best part came next....

And so with the help of my amazing husband Caleb we ate our wonderfully adorable little cupcakes. They tasted like Cookies and Cream Ice Cream...without the ice cream part, which in my book is just fine.

Hi! I've made cookies and cream cupcakes before, but never put the oreos in the batter, great idea!
