Weddings and my first wedding cake.

I have been noticing more and more how many people I know who are married and are engaged. Its a little be ridiculous to be honest. Really it all hit me this past Friday night when two of my friends, Darren and Sahra got married, and then after their wedding two other people I know got engaged. Same day. The wedding I went to reminded me very much of my wedding, in that it was super spur-of-the-moment, and only close friends and family. I only wish that I didn't have to go to it by myself, but I guess that's what happens when your hubs is in the Army. Some other friends of mine are getting married Sep 9th, and I will be at that one by myself as well and then another friend at the end of Sep, and then one of my best friends is getting married next summer and I will not only be there alone, Im also in her wedding, and her wedding cake baker. Of all of these weddings and such but I am really only waiting on one person I know to get married, and then my life will be complete. It just seems so strange how once you get to certain age people start getting married like no other. I would just like to say, I started it, last summer. So I win I guess? I supose you can't help but start to look for "the one" at some point in your life. I feel like girls have this worse than guys though, even if your someone like me, who refused to believe that I was going to marry the crazy boy I met before my senior year of highschool, you still can imagine though. I know I did that without noticing and then when I realized I was fantasizing about getting married I would yell at myself in my head and change the subject. Caleb pretty much had to convince me that I wanted to get married...lol. I always thought it was the other way around...?
So back to Darren and Sahra's wedding. We all threw it together in less than a week, and I must say it turned out amazing. Sahra was beautiful. My sister-in-law, Raeann had this idea to take soup cans and punch out designs in them and use them as tealight holders. And then as my present I baked them a wedding (carrot) cake. It was so cute. After having been to so many differnt types of weddings in my life, I can honestly say that Darren and Sahra's was one of the best. I don't know why more people don't have tiny little weddings and why on earth don't more brides where green/black/grey dresses?

Not the best picture of the cake....but oh well.
